Deirdre Aufrichtig

📍 South Africa

Hi, I’m Deirdre. I grew up in Ireland and have spent most of my adult life in Cape Town, South Africa. I’m a mother to four children, and my own psychological and spiritual development has always been the thread that guides me. Over the past 20 years, I have followed a deeply personal path of exploration and healing, qualifying as an Ashtanga yoga teacher, a shamanic therapist, and a Human Design analyst. I am currently studying a system called Source Code, which is deepening my understanding of human nature, healing, and transformation. As a 3/5 Generator on the Cross of the Vessel of Love, my work is to initiate people into deeper layers of self-love, self-trust, and self-empowerment. My third-line nature gives me a lived, experiential understanding of how to weave many modalities together in a grounded, practical way. My own eight-year journey with Human Design took me through a profound deconditioning process — one that brought me back into alignment with who I truly am. Supporting others through that same return to self is the work I love most. I am especially passionate about working with mothers and parents, helping them understand the unique design of their children so they can nurture who their child truly is. This poem has always inspired the heart of my work — a reminder of how the soul longs to be nourished, seen, and allowed to become: "Make your life the first life that you save" Instructions for Having a Soul — Joseph Fasano Take it out in the rain sometimes. It has vast, invisible wings that gather dirt and need rinsing. When it tries to kill you that is because you've forgotten to let it look into someone's eyes for longer than a minute. It needs that the way a bee needs nectar in the early morning dew. Every so often, take it on a journey. Let it read long, hard books and let it stare into the depths of the sea. Yes, you can give it chips and whiskey but from time to time let it kneel in a place that is holy like the simple cathedral of the willows. All it wants is to live, to keep becoming. Nourish it, and it puts down roots, it opens. But starve it, and the mind, the flesh is empty; the world breaks down; symphonies go unwritten; the rockets fall; the children die in flames. Listen. It is not too late to wake it. Say the names of the wild, the forgotten things: bluebird, red wolf, robin; violet, child, clover. You cannot save the world but you can open the window for the trapped wren in the cellar. Read a book to a blind man, to your father. Tell a child you do believe her anger. Make your life the first life that you save.
