Mutation

The transformative, evolutionary force carried by Individual circuitry — the mechanism through which the species evolves.

In Human Design, Mutation refers to the transformative, evolutionary force that is the fundamental purpose of the Individual Circuit Group. Mutation is the mechanism through which the species breaks fixed patterns and evolves — introducing something genuinely new into the collective field. Individual circuitry, particularly the Knowing Circuit (Gates 3, 60, 41, 14, 29, 64, 47, 6, 49, etc.) carries the energy of mutation. Ra Uru Hu taught that mutation cannot be forced, controlled, or initiated through the mind — it happens when the Pulse of Individual energy turns on and the correct environment and timing align. Those with significant Individual circuitry carry the potential for mutation, and by living their unique design correctly, they catalyze mutative change in others who come into contact with their frequency. Mutation is always Individual first — it must be embodied by the individual before it can benefit the collective.
