Life Cycle

The Mid-Life Point in Human Design refers to the Uranus Opposition transit — a significant life transit that occurs at approximately age 38–42 (varying with the individual's natal Uranus position), when transiting Uranus reaches the exact opposite point in the zodiac from where it was at birth. Ra Uru Hu described this as one of the major life cycle turning points — the so-called "mid-life crisis" in popular culture — which in Human Design terms represents a time of heightened pressure toward authenticity. During the Uranus Opposition, unresolved conditioning, incorrect life patterns, and the consequences of Not-Self decisions often surface dramatically. It is an invitation to shed what is not truly correct and to align more deeply with one's Strategy and Authority. Those who have been living correctly find this transit to be a time of deepening and liberation; those who have been living as the Not-Self often experience it as disruption, crisis, and upheaval.
