Definition refers to the overall pattern of connectivity among the defined Centers in the BodyGraph — specifically, how the defined Centers and Channels are connected (or separated) from each other. There are 5 types of Definition:
Single Definition — All defined Centers and Channels form one continuous, connected circuit. Single Definition individuals have an internal consistency and self-sufficiency that does not require others to "complete" their circuit. They are reliably themselves regardless of who they are with. Approximately 41% of the population.
Split Definition — Two separate groups of defined Centers that are not directly connected to each other in the natal chart. Split Definition individuals have an unconscious tendency to seek out people who bridge their two halves — people whose activations connect the otherwise-separate parts of their design. The bridging person or transit temporarily makes them feel more complete. Approximately 46% of the population.
Triple Split Definition — Three separate groups of defined Centers. Triple Split individuals need environments with many people to sample and find their own consistent circuitry. They are naturally social and do best moving through diverse groups and communities. Approximately 11% of the population.
Quadruple Split Definition — Four separate groups of defined Centers. Very rare (~1%). Quadruple Split individuals need the most social variety and flexibility — no single person can bridge all four parts of their design.
No Definition (Reflector only) — No fixed Channel definitions in the natal chart. The Reflector has no consistent definition and samples the definition of their environment. Their Strategy is to wait a full lunar cycle before making significant decisions.
