Composite
The combined BodyGraph of two or more individuals — showing what Centers and Channels are defined together, revealing the relationship's mechanics.
A Composite in Human Design is the combined BodyGraph of two or more individuals. When individual charts are overlaid, the Composite shows which Centers and Channels become consistently defined in the presence of the other person (or group).
The Composite reveals the mechanics of a relationship:
- Electromagnetics — when one person's hanging gate completes another person's hanging gate, creating a Channel that neither person has alone. This creates a strong electromagnetic attraction — the two people are literally drawn together because together they complete a circuit.
- Defined Centers — Centers that are undefined in one or both individuals may become defined in the Composite, providing consistent access to energies that each person amplifies in the other.
- Compromise — Centers defined in one individual that remain undefined in the other become sites of potential conditioning. The defined person consistently conditions the undefined person in those areas.
Composite readings are fundamental to relationship analysis in Human Design. They reveal the designed chemistry between people, where relationships support growth, where they create dependency, and how the combined energy field operates.
The Composite also identifies the Relationship Type — the overall quality and purpose of the connection, based on the Circuit characteristics of the channels that become defined together.
