Center (9 Centers)

The nine energy hubs of the BodyGraph — the transformed Hindu chakra system. Defined centers are consistent; undefined centers are receptive and amplifying.

The nine Centers are the foundational structures of the Human Design BodyGraph. They evolved from the seven-chakra Hindu-Brahmin system but are nine distinct entities, reflecting the evolution of consciousness from the seven-centered to the nine-centered being that occurred approximately 1781 CE.

Each Center governs a specific domain of human energy, awareness, and experience:

Head Center — Pressure center. Mental inspiration, existential questions, the pressure to think and find meaning. Biological: Pineal gland.

Ajna Center — Awareness center. Conceptual processing, analysis, opinion formation, mental certainty. Biological: Pituitary gland.

Throat Center — Manifestation and communication center. The only center through which energy can be expressed outwardly — through voice, action, and physical manifestation. Biological: Thyroid and parathyroid.

G Center (Identity/Self) — Center of identity, direction, and love. The magnetic monopole resides here, drawing the individual's life direction. Biological: Liver and blood.

Heart/Ego Center — Motor and will center. Willpower, ego, material resources, promises and commitments. Biological: Heart, stomach, gallbladder, thymus.

Sacral Center — Motor and life force center (Generator only). The generative, reproductive, and working life force. The seat of sacral response (uh-huh / uhn-uhn). Biological: Reproductive and cellular energy systems.

Solar Plexus Center — Motor and awareness center (in mutation). Emotional energy, the emotional wave, spirit. Biological: Kidneys, pancreas, prostate/uterus, nervous system.

Spleen Center — Awareness center. Instinct, survival, immune system, existential fear. The oldest awareness center. Biological: Lymphatic system, spleen, B-cells, T-cells.

Root Center — Pressure and motor center. Adrenaline, stress, drive, the pressure to do. Biological: Adrenal glands.

Each center is either Defined (colored-in, consistent energy) or Undefined (white, open and amplifying). An undefined center takes in, amplifies, and reflects the energy of others — it is a site of wisdom potential and conditioning.
