Bridge

A gate or channel that connects otherwise separate circuit groups — creating a conduit for energies that would not otherwise communicate.

In Human Design, a Bridge refers to specific gates or channels that create connections between otherwise separate Circuit Groups or Centers — linking energies that would not naturally interact.

The most significant bridging function in the BodyGraph is performed by the Integration Channels (Gates 10, 20, 34, and 57): Channels 10-20, 10-34, 10-57, 20-34, 20-57, and 34-57. These channels are not formally part of any of the three main Circuit Groups (Individual, Collective, or Tribal) — they form their own circuit of self-love, self-sufficiency, and survival. By connecting the G Center, Throat, Sacral, and Spleen, the Integration circuit bridges multiple circuit groups, allowing the individual to operate independently of any particular tribal or collective agenda.

Bridging can also refer to individual gates — "hanging gates" or "undefined channels" where one gate is defined but not the other. When a person has a hanging gate in a channel, they have a "bridge" waiting for completion — either through transit, through the presence of another person who carries the complementary gate, or through time and the lunar cycle. The bridge quality means that the channel can be temporarily completed, flooding the individual with that channel's full definition.
