The BodyGraph is the primary visual and structural representation of an individual's Human Design. It is a mandala-like diagram derived from the intersection of four ancient systems (the I'Ching, the Hindu-Brahmin Chakra system, the Kabbalah Tree of Life, and Western Astrology) as synthesized by Ra Uru Hu.

The BodyGraph contains:<br>- 9 Centers — energy hubs corresponding to the transformed Hindu chakra system<br>- 36 Channels — energy pathways connecting pairs of Centers<br>- 64 Gates — specific energy points within Centers, corresponding to the 64 hexagrams of the I'Ching

The BodyGraph is divided into two streams: Personality (black) — the conscious activations calculated from the time of birth — and Design (red) — the unconscious activations calculated from approximately 88 degrees of the Sun before birth.

Defined (colored-in) Centers and Channels carry consistent, reliable energy that defines the individual's fixed nature. Undefined (white) Centers and Channels are open and receptive — they amplify and reflect the energies of others and of transiting planets.

The BodyGraph is the foundation of every Human Design reading. It reveals Type, Authority, Profile, Incarnation Cross, Circuit definitions, and the specific energetic architecture of the individual.
