Ajna Center
The Awareness Center of the mind — the center of conceptualization, analysis, and mental pattern processing.
The Ajna Center is the second center from the top of the BodyGraph, positioned between the Head Center (above) and the Throat Center (below). It is one of the three Awareness Centers in Human Design, along with the Head and the Spleen.
The Ajna is the center of mental processing — it takes the inspirational pressure from the Head and transforms it into concepts, opinions, theories, and frameworks for understanding. Its biological correlate is the pituitary gland — the master gland of the endocrine system.
Defined Ajna: Consistent, fixed mental processing. A reliable, characteristic way of forming opinions and conceptualizing the world. The defined Ajna person can appear certain — they have consistent access to their own mental perspective.
Undefined Ajna: Open and receptive mental processing. The undefined Ajna amplifies and reflects the mental frameworks of others. Its wisdom lies in its flexibility — the ability to hold multiple perspectives without attachment to any single view. The not-self theme is trying to be certain about things the mind cannot resolve.
The Ajna Center connects to the Head via Channels 17–62, 47–64, and 24–61.
