Activation

The imprinting of a Gate by a planetary body at the time of birth (Personality) or 88 degrees of Sun prior (Design).

An activation occurs when a planetary body occupies a specific Gate in the Rave I'Ching at the moment of calculation. There are two streams of activations in every Rave Chart:

Personality (Conscious) activations — calculated from the exact time of birth. These are the black activations in the chart. They represent what the conscious mind can potentially see and identify with.

Design (Unconscious) activations — calculated from approximately 88 degrees of the Sun before birth (roughly 88 days for most people). These are the red activations. They represent the genetic imprinting of the body — what the vehicle carries unconsciously.

Each planet activates a specific Gate, and each Gate has six Lines. The combination of Gate, Line, and Color/Tone/Base determines the precise nature of the activation. When both gates of a Channel are activated (by any combination of Personality and Design planets), the Channel becomes defined, creating a consistent energy bridge between two Centers.
